Sofitel Philippine Plaza Elevates Wellness Retreats in Manila

Hotel spas vary from small salon-style spaces to lavish wellness retreats, yet few embrace the growing trend of medical tourism. Responding to this shift, Sofitel Philippine Plaza reimagined its spa offerings by partnering with established wellness experts to create Vietura, an on-site health and aesthetic institute.

“Manila is a major destination for international travelers seeking cost-effective aesthetic treatments,” said Goran Aleks, general manager of Sofitel Philippine Plaza. “Guests were frequently leaving the hotel to visit external clinics. That observation inspired a new approach: instead of one-off fixes, why not offer a comprehensive program focused on sustainable behavior change?”

Launched as the first aesthetic center of its kind in Asia, Vietura provides a broad range of services from weight management programs to advanced anti-aging treatments. The team is composed of 12 registered nurses, a dietician and a lifestyle coach, all operating under the supervision of a licensed medical doctor.

“Vietura goes beyond the typical medical spa; it’s designed as a lifestyle experience,” Aleks explained. “It targets guests who recognize that improved confidence doesn’t come from sudden transformation but from a holistic, long-term approach that enhances a natural, healthy glow.”

The institute focuses on integrated care, combining clinical procedures with nutritional guidance and coaching to support lasting change. Treatments are tailored to individual needs and paired with education and follow-up to help clients maintain results once they leave the hotel.

Positioned within the hotel, Vietura aims to give travelers convenient access to professional aesthetic and wellness services without sacrificing quality or safety. By bringing these capabilities in-house, the hotel seeks to offer guests a seamless experience that aligns hospitality with contemporary health and beauty standards.

For many visitors, combining leisure travel with medically supervised wellness services offers both value and peace of mind. The model appeals to those who want effective, supervised care while also enjoying the comforts and amenities of a luxury hotel.

Ultimately, Vietura represents a shift in how hotels can support guest wellbeing—building on traditional spa services by integrating medical expertise, lifestyle coaching and nutrition to create personalized, sustainable programs.
