Sofitel New York Unveils Tony Awards Suite and Themed Lobby Decor

Through June 30, Broadway enthusiasts can experience a theatrical celebration at Sofitel New York, where the hotel is showcasing a curated suite and a lobby art gallery dedicated to musical theater.

As the Official Hotel Partner for the 2018 Tony Awards, Sofitel New York presents 36 iconic posters by renowned theater poster artist Frank “Fraver” Verlizzo. The lobby exhibition features posters representing Tony Award–winning and nominated productions, each accompanied by a personal anecdote from Fraver. Highlighted works include posters for Sunday in the Park with George, The Lion King and Sweeney Todd. The Fraver Art Gallery coincides with the upcoming release of Fraver by Design, a retrospective book covering Fraver’s five decades of theater artwork.

“Through the Fraver Art Gallery we have a unique opportunity to honor one of the industry’s greatest talents,” said Marie-Paule Nowlis, hotel manager at Sofitel New York. “We invite guests, local residents and visitors to see these iconic works by a designer who has helped shape the visual identity of the theater.”

In addition to the gallery, Sofitel New York has introduced the Tony Awards Suite, available through July 15. This luxury terrace suite features Manhattan skyline views and theater memorabilia, along with Tony-themed amenities such as a Tony songbook, award-winning scripts, Playbills and programs. Rates for the suite start at $2,000 per night.

For a top-tier offering, the $100K Tony Awards experience includes a stay in the Tony Awards Suite from June 4–11, two tickets to the Tony Awards Honors Cocktail, two VIP tickets to the 2018 Tony Awards, red-carpet styling by Christian Siriano, hair and makeup by Nomi Beauty, two tickets to the official Tony Awards gala and after-party, and two house seats for three 2018 Tony-nominated performances. As part of this package, Sofitel New York also makes a $50,000 donation to the Broadway League and The American Theatre Wing on the guest’s behalf.

The $100K Tony Awards experience is available for booking through May 25.

Le Club AccorHotels members can choose from additional Tony-related packages, including the Ultimate Broadway experience and the 72nd Annual Tony Awards Ceremony & Gala experience. The Ultimate Broadway experience features two tickets to the Tony Honors Cocktail and two tickets to Hello, Dolly! at the Shubert Theatre. The 72nd Annual Tony Awards package includes a welcome cocktail, professional hair and makeup services, two VIP tickets to the Tony Awards ceremony and gala, and round-trip limousine transportation.
