Sixt Rent-a-Car continues its U.S. expansion with two new locations in San Diego and San Antonio announced for fall 2017.
“Because we are focused on the leisure consumer, these great cities are key areas,” said Daniel Florence, co-president of Sixt. “They’re renowned vacation destinations, full of attractions and scenic drives.”
The company will open counters at San Diego International Airport and San Antonio International Airport to serve travelers in both markets.
Sebastian Birkel, co-president of Sixt, described the openings as part of a broader growth plan extending into the coming year. “We are working to make Sixt available in as many markets as possible, as quickly as possible,” Birkel said. “Our strategic priority is to enter the top 30 U.S. airport markets first, then continue expanding beyond those hubs.”
Headquartered in Germany, Sixt is now the fifth-largest car rental company operating in the United States. The brand has a global network of more than 4,000 locations across 115 countries and maintains a strong U.S. presence with operations out of Fort Lauderdale and more than 50 rental locations across states including California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Washington, Texas, Connecticut, New Jersey, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Arizona, and Massachusetts.
