Known for exceptional luxury, transformative spas and a strong focus on wellness, Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas is expanding with two distinctive new properties planned to open in 2020: a mountaintop retreat in Switzerland and a beachside resort in Spain.
In the Swiss Alps, Six Senses Crans-Montana will sit amid dramatic alpine scenery about two hours from Geneva by car or train. Designed as a sanctuary for both winter sports and year-round relaxation, the resort will offer ski-in/ski-out access and a selection of dining and leisure spaces, including two restaurants, a sun terrace, a bar and retail outlets. Accommodation will consist of 47 guestrooms and suites, plus 17 Six Senses residences ranging from three-bedroom lofts to four-bedroom homes, catering to families and longer stays.
Wellness will be central to the Crans-Montana experience. A 22,000-square-foot spa is planned, featuring alpine-inspired treatments and therapies tailored to the mountain setting. Complementing the spa will be a fitness studio, a fully equipped gym, an indoor pool and a suspended relaxation area designed for quiet contemplation. In line with Six Senses’ sustainability commitments, architects and designers will prioritize local, recycled and repurposed materials throughout the property, reducing environmental impact while reflecting regional character.
On Spain’s Balearic Islands, Six Senses Ibiza will be located at Cala Xarraca Bay on the island’s northern tip, where rugged coastline and clear waters meet spectacular sunsets and easy yacht access. The resort is planned as a full-service destination combining a spa, multiple dining venues and an integrated residential community across 25 acres.
Accommodations at Six Senses Ibiza will total 134 units, with a range of categories designed to suit diverse guest needs. Options will include Townhouse Suites, Deluxe Pool Suites with private decks, unique Beach Cave Suites and two expansive six-bedroom mansions. For those seeking more privacy, the development will also include nine private villas positioned above the main resort area.
Wellness and sustainability are core pillars of the Ibiza project. The resort’s operating practices will emphasize environmental responsibility, and guests can expect organic food options and eco-friendly amenities such as organic bedding. A spiritual learning center will offer programs covering fitness, nutrition, education, yoga, sleep, mindfulness and other holistic wellness disciplines. The property will also feature an on-site organic farm that supports a pop-up restaurant and hands-on cooking classes, giving guests the opportunity to learn healthy, sustainable food preparation techniques they can take home.
Both new addresses—Six Senses Crans-Montana and Six Senses Ibiza—reflect the brand’s signature blend of luxury, wellness programming and sustainable design. Each property is tailored to its setting: the Swiss location emphasizes alpine relaxation and mountain activities, while the Ibiza resort focuses on coastal living, culinary experiences and holistic wellbeing. Together they expand Six Senses’ global portfolio with thoughtful destinations that prioritize guest health, environmental stewardship and memorable local experiences.
