Silversea Reveals Silver Nova: Revolutionary Asymmetrical Cruise Ship Design

Silversea Cruises recently revealed new details about its 11th ship, Silver Nova, scheduled for delivery in 2023. For the first time in the line’s history, this vessel features an innovative asymmetrical design with expanded outdoor spaces, an outward-facing pool deck and a sky bar — all crafted to create a stronger connection between guests and the destinations they visit.

The ship’s asymmetrical profile makes room for a reimagined pool area and expanded outdoor venues on decks 10 and 11. These spaces are designed to maximize panoramic sightlines and emphasize the destination experience, offering guests more open-air places to relax and socialize.

Silver Nova represents the next iteration of Silversea’s unique take on luxury, with an entirely new design approach that will enhance our guests’ cruise experience,” said Roberto Martinoli, president and CEO of Silversea. “With her outward-facing, asymmetrical layout and all-new outdoor venues, Silver Nova will offer guests a fresh way to connect with each destination. Coupled with groundbreaking environmental credentials, Silver Nova strengthens our position at the forefront of sustainable cruise travel.”

Decks 10 and 11 will host The Pool Deck, which offers 280 sunbeds and a horseshoe-shaped pool on the starboard side that provides unobstructed views. The pool is larger than those on previous Silversea ships and features a new layout with wide entry steps and additional shallow areas, making it more accessible and versatile. A centralized bar on deck 10 will serve as a social hub, while deck 11 is designed in an amphitheater style in relation to the level below. The Cliff Whirlpool — an infinity-edge whirlpool located at the center — adds a striking focal point to the area.

Also on deck 10 are two new food and beverage venues: The Marquee and The Dusk Bar. These complement six existing signature Silversea dining options. The Marquee, positioned toward the aft on the port side with sea views, provides alfresco seating for 220 guests and includes The Grill and Spaccanapoli, two venues showcasing Silversea’s “hot rocks” culinary concept. The Dusk Bar is an open-air sky bar with capacity for about 70 guests and 270-degree stern views, ideal for sunset cocktails and panoramic sightseeing.

Sustainability is a core focus for Silver Nova. The ship is designed to be the world’s first low-emissions cruise ship to incorporate advanced hybrid technology with fuel cells, enabling zero harmful emissions while in port. These innovations underline Silversea’s commitment to reducing environmental impact and advancing sustainable cruise operations.

Silver Nova will accommodate 728 guests across 13 suite categories, blending Silversea’s hallmark luxury with new design elements and environmental technologies to deliver a more open, destination-focused cruise experience.
