As part of Sheraton 2020 — a focused 10-point plan to restore Sheraton Hotels & Resorts to a leading global position — the brand is refreshing its lobby bar experience with a creative culinary concept called the Paired bar menu.
The Paired program presents artisanal small plates and inventive bar snacks alongside suggested premium wines and locally crafted beers. Thoughtful combinations — from a banana bread peanut butter sandwich matched with Tawny Port to La Quercia smoked prosciutto served with a Scottish ale — encourage guests to explore new flavor pairings and enjoy unexpected culinary contrasts.
“Sheraton guests seek fresh, personalized experiences when they travel,” said Dave Marr, global brand leader for Sheraton Hotels & Resorts. “By building on our wine heritage, adding craft beers and introducing playful food pairings, we give guests memorable, enriching moments right in our hotel lobbies.”
Offered daily during lobby venue hours at participating Sheraton properties worldwide, the Paired menu includes items such as seared sesame salmon with Asian slaw, recommended with pinot noir or a pale ale; goat cheese brûlée with fig jam and cranberry focaccia, paired with merlot or brown ale; marinated roasted olives with grilled lemon and red chili, matched with shiraz or a bourbon barrel–aged ale; and Cantonese-style salt & pepper chicken wings, paired with Riesling or an IPA.
Beyond the menu, participating hotels bring Paired to life through engaging programming. Guests can attend educational demonstrations by local craft breweries or take sommelier-led sessions to learn the principles of flavor pairing and gain hands-on insight into how beverages enhance food.
“The Paired concept invites curiosity and delights the palate,” said Achim Lenders, vice president of Starwood Global Food and Beverage. “When the right beverage complements a dish, it elevates the entire experience. Our team thoughtfully selected premium wines and craft beers to highlight the distinctive flavors of each small plate.”
By combining locally inspired beverages with approachable, chef-driven snacks, Paired aims to make Sheraton lobbies a destination for socializing, discovery and culinary enjoyment for both hotel guests and local visitors.
