Shangri‑La Opens Luxurious Hotel on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts will open a signature property on Palm Jumeirah, the world’s largest man-made island, in Dubai in 2016. Occupying the first 18 floors of the 52-level Palm Tower, the hotel will feature 290 guestrooms and suites designed for both leisure and business travelers.

The new Shangri-La will deliver a broad range of amenities, including outdoor family dining, an outdoor pool, a fully equipped health club and a spa. Guests will have direct access to Club Vista Mare beach club, The Palm Monorail and Nakheel Mall, a new retail, dining and entertainment complex launching in 2016. Its location within the Palm Tower positions the hotel at the heart of Palm Jumeirah, making it an ideal base for visitors and UAE residents seeking a premium Dubai experience.

Greg Dogan, president and CEO of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, noted that the Palm Tower’s strategic placement alongside Nakheel Mall enhances the hotel’s appeal as a prime destination on the island. The development reflects Shangri-La’s continued global expansion; the company currently operates more than 80 luxury hotels and has additional projects underway across Mainland China, India, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Qatar, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates.
