Scenic Cruises has introduced its seventh European river vessel, the 169-passenger Scenic Jewel. This newest addition joins Scenic’s existing river fleet, which includes the Scenic Crystal, Diamond, Emerald, Pearl, Sapphire and Ruby.
The Scenic Jewel is designed for contemporary river travel and offers a variety of onboard amenities. Multiple dining venues serve regional and international cuisine, while a personal GPS commentary system delivers information about landmarks and points of interest as the ship sails. Guests can enjoy open-air balconies that also convert to enclosed spaces when the weather requires it, providing year-round comfort and flexible views.
For the 2013 season, the ship will operate a 15-day itinerary between Amsterdam and Budapest, combining cultural highlights, scenic cruising and curated shore excursions. Scenic has also announced plans to expand its European offerings with another vessel, the Scenic Gem, scheduled to debut next year and to operate an 11-day cruise originating in Paris.
With these additions, Scenic continues to broaden its river-cruise portfolio across Europe, focusing on comfortable accommodations, varied dining options and guided sightseeing features that enhance the onboard experience while exploring iconic waterways and historic cities.
