Rosewood Hotels & Resorts Expands Into Venice: What to Expect

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts opened Rosewood Venice in 2020. The property is the luxury brand’s second hotel in Italy and its eighth in Europe. Housed within a restored 15th-century palazzo near several of the city’s most celebrated landmarks, the hotel preserves the building’s rich history and distinctive character.

The hotel offers 50 guestrooms and suites, many overlooking the canals. Original frescoes and stuccoes, coffered ceilings, fireplaces and tapestries are featured throughout the property, alongside two tranquil walled courtyards. Dining options include two signature restaurants and a piano bar designed to complement the palazzo’s atmosphere.

“As one of the most romantic cities in Europe, beloved for its breathtaking architecture and beautiful canals, Venice is an ideal location for Rosewood’s newest property in our rapidly expanding European portfolio,” said Sonia Cheng, CEO of Rosewood Hotel Group. “Celebrated for its integral role in the development of Italian commerce, culture, and arts, Venice is ripe with history and natural beauty. We look forward to providing guests with unrivaled access to its many treasures.”

Radha Arora, president of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, added: “The opening of Rosewood Venice marks a significant moment for the Rosewood brand as we continue to strengthen our presence in Europe. We are excited to bring our Sense of Place philosophy to this landmark property, offering new ways to explore the city for discerning travelers and local residents alike who want to see Venice from a fresh perspective.”

Designed to reflect both the heritage of the palazzo and contemporary comforts, Rosewood Venice aims to combine historic elegance with modern service. The hotel’s public spaces and guest rooms showcase restored architectural details while accommodating today’s expectations for luxury hospitality. Its location provides convenient access to Venice’s cultural sites, shops and waterways, making it suitable for leisure and culturally focused stays.

Beyond guest accommodations, the property’s curated experiences and dining venues are intended to highlight local flavors, craftsmanship and traditions. The two walled courtyards offer peaceful outdoor retreats, and the piano bar creates an intimate setting for evening gatherings. Together, these elements reinforce the hotel’s intent to celebrate Venice’s artistic legacy while delivering personalized service.

With careful restoration and thoughtful design, Rosewood Venice represents a meeting point between past and present—preserving historic details while introducing refined amenities. The hotel positions itself as a destination for travelers seeking immersive, culturally rich stays in one of the world’s most iconic cities.
