Rosewood Hotel San Francisco Opening in 2026 — Timeline & Highlights

Set to open in 2026, Rosewood San Francisco will be the final skyscraper developed in downtown for the foreseeable future. The planned 800-foot-tall building will combine a luxury hotel, residences, offices and rental spaces. This will be Rosewood’s third California property, joining Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park and Rosewood Miramar Beach in Montecito.

Located in the Transbay District, the hotel will feature 180 guestrooms and suites and enjoy proximity to notable landmarks and neighborhoods, including the 5.4-acre elevated Salesforce Park. That park draws visitors from around the world with its 1,000-person amphitheater, children’s play area, interactive art installations and walking trails, providing guests with direct access to a lively public green space.

The property is designed to deliver sweeping views of the city and park and centers on modern wellness offerings. A dedicated movement studio, a fully equipped fitness center and an indoor lap pool will support guest health and fitness routines, while programs and services are expected to emphasize forward-thinking well-being.

For dining and social life, the hotel will include event spaces, a signature indoor-outdoor restaurant and a patisserie, creating varied settings for meals, casual gatherings and relaxation. The design also incorporates a comfortable living-room-style lounge for guests to unwind, while the Manor Club — Rosewood’s signature private lounge concept — will provide members and guests with an exclusive retreat.

“As one of the most dynamic and innovative cities in North America, San Francisco offers an eclectic mix of culture, cuisine, art, technology and adventure, and is an ideal destination for the Rosewood brand,” said Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group. “We are thrilled to be a part of this revolutionary new development and look forward to providing our affluent explorers and San Franciscans alike with a stylish and refined new icon to enjoy for years to come.”
