Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas Reopens After Major Renovation

The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas, set on a 30-acre beachfront estate with sweeping views of the Caribbean Sea and nearby islands, has completed a multimillion-dollar renovation that refreshes its accommodations and public spaces. The project updated the resort’s guestrooms, suites, restaurant and gazebo to reflect a refined Caribbean aesthetic while enhancing comfort and coastal charm.

All 180 guestrooms and suites received new furnishings, carpeting, draperies and bed linens. The rooms were redecorated using a warm, beach-inspired palette—soft sand tones and ocean accents—that evokes a relaxed yet elegant island atmosphere. Design updates emphasize clean lines and natural textures while incorporating Caribbean-inspired details for an authentic, welcoming feel.

The oceanfront gazebo was expanded and upgraded to accommodate up to 150 guests, making it better suited for weddings, gatherings and special events against a seaside backdrop. Improvements to the structure and surrounding landscape enhance the guest experience while preserving unobstructed sea views.

Bleuwater, the resort’s signature fine-dining restaurant, was redesigned with a sophisticated color scheme of deep blues and grays that complements panoramic ocean vistas. The refreshed dining room and updated finishes create a refined yet relaxed setting for guests to enjoy the island’s culinary offerings.

The renovation balances contemporary comfort with local character, improving both private and public areas to meet the expectations of modern luxury travelers. These enhancements were completed with attention to detail and a focus on maximizing the property’s natural coastal assets, ensuring an inviting environment for leisure stays, destination events and memorable dining experiences.
