Reimagined Duke Energy Convention Center Opens for 2026 Bookings

The Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, began a major transformation on July 1 to create modern, state-of-the-art facilities and upgraded event experiences as part of a broader reinvention of downtown Cincinnati’s convention district. The project is expected to be complete in the third quarter of 2025, and Visit Cincy is now accepting bookings for 2026 and beyond.

The redesigned center will feature energy-efficient exhibit and meeting areas, refreshed ballrooms, an expanded pre-function zone, flexible outdoor event space, and a rooftop terrace that adds new possibilities for receptions and special events.

“The reimagined Duke Energy Convention Center will be a game-changer, providing a modern, dynamic space that meets the evolving needs of event planners and attendees,” said Julie Calvert, president and CEO of Visit Cincy. “We are excited about the opportunities this transformation will bring and look forward to unveiling a venue that truly reflects the vibrant spirit of Cincinnati. Event planners should secure their dates now to be among the first to experience our newly renovated space in 2026.”

While the convention center undergoes renovation, a variety of alternative venues across the region are available to host events of every size. Options include the Sharonville Convention Center, refurbished historic landmarks, contemporary meeting spaces, and flexible outdoor locations. The Meeting Made Cincy campaign highlights the advantages of holding conferences, trade shows, and corporate events in Cincinnati, emphasizing strong local support and diverse venue choices.

“Convention business will remain strong while the center is offline,” Calvert added. “Local hotels, the Sharonville Convention Center, and many unique venues are fully prepared to ensure the needs of all groups are met and exceeded so that event activity continues. We are also thrilled to offer the opportunity to book the state-of-the-art DECC for 2026 and beyond, giving planners time to plan and secure prime dates.”

Planners and organizers considering Cincinnati for future events can expect a revitalized, sustainable convention destination that integrates modern amenities with the city’s lively culture and downtown energy. With confirmed timelines and an active slate of alternative venues during construction, Cincinnati remains a reliable, attractive choice for meetings, conventions, and special events.
