Real-Time Translation Earbuds by Google: Instant Conversation Translator

Imagine being able to understand someone in a foreign country instantly, or having them understand you without any language barrier. Google’s new real-time translation earbuds aim to be a travel essential for exactly that reason.

These earbuds let a user speak in their native language and hear a translation in the chosen target language. The translated phrase is played aloud so the person you’re speaking with can hear it. To receive a reply, the other person speaks into the paired phone and the earbuds deliver the translated response in real time.

At launch, the earbuds are compatible only with Google Pixel devices. During November, Google plans to expand compatibility, making the headphones work with iPhones and select high-end Samsung phones as they become available on the wider wireless headphone market.

The product is designed to reduce language friction between travelers and locals, enabling more natural interactions and deeper connections while exploring new places.

Initially, the earbuds support translations for 40 languages, with Google intending to add more languages and enhance functionality over time.
