Quick Access Guide: Streamlined Ways to Reach What You Need

EVA Air and Singapore Airlines passengers now enjoy smoother connections between Asia and North America following an expansion of the carriers’ codeshare agreement. Effective Dec. 12 — marking the first anniversary of codeshare services between the two Star Alliance members on flights linking Singapore and Taipei — Singapore Airlines will place its flight code on EVA Air-operated services between Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport and several major destinations in the United States and Canada.

Under the expanded arrangement, Singapore Airlines codeshare flights operated by EVA Air to Los Angeles (LAX), Seattle (SEA), San Francisco (SFO), New York (JFK), Toronto (YYZ) and Vancouver (YVR). The broader network coverage provides customers with additional itinerary options, simplified booking and greater connectivity when travelling between Southeast Asia and North America.

“Our growing partnership with EVA Air is another example of our efforts to leverage Star Alliance to expand our network reach and to offer customers travelling to and from North America even more choices and convenience,” said Lee en Fen, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Planning, Singapore Airlines.

The expanded codeshare also offers benefits for passengers booking through either carrier: coordinated schedules for better connections, unified booking references for smoother check-in and baggage transfers, and more consistent access to frequent flyer benefits across a wider set of flights. These improvements make it easier for travellers to plan multi-leg journeys and reduce the friction often associated with interline transfers.

“This mutually beneficial partnership gives both Singapore Airlines and our passengers more flexibility in flight itineraries,” said Glenn Chai, Executive Vice President, Corporate Planning Division, EVA Air. “It also demonstrates EVA’s commitment to building strong partnerships with other Star Alliance members.”

Beyond route expansion, the collaboration aligns with both airlines’ focus on service quality, operational reliability and customer experience. Passengers can expect to find complementary schedules and coordinated services designed to streamline connections and provide consistent standards across flights covered by the codeshare.

The expanded codeshare is particularly useful for business and leisure travellers who value convenience when transiting through Taipei. It offers greater choice in departure times and flight combinations, enabling customers to select the most suitable itineraries that meet their timing, comfort and cost preferences. Travellers can also better manage complex itineraries that include regional connections within Asia before continuing onward to North America.

Frequent flyers on either carrier stand to benefit from the arrangement as well. Depending on the fare class and membership terms, passengers may earn miles and enjoy reciprocal elite benefits when travelling on codeshare flights, subject to the rules of the respective frequent flyer programs. This closer alignment helps maintain a consistent experience for loyal customers across a wider set of services.

In practical terms, the codeshare expansion means customers booking through Singapore Airlines will see additional flight options displayed for EVA-operated routes to LAX, SEA, SFO, JFK, YYZ and YVR. Similarly, passengers booking on EVA Air can encounter Singapore Airlines-coded options that may better suit their travel needs. The shared schedules and slot coordination also aim to minimize connection times while ensuring reliable transfers.

As both airlines continue to strengthen partnerships within Star Alliance, travellers can expect incremental improvements in network coverage and service integration. The codeshare expansion is a tangible step toward greater connectivity between Asia and North America, offering passengers improved choice, flexibility and a more cohesive travel experience when flying between Taipei and major North American gateways.
