Qatar Airways Expands Private Jet Fleet and Luxury Services

Continuing its rapid expansion since launch, Qatar Airways has announced plans to grow its private jet division with an order for up to 20 aircraft from Gulfstream Aerospace. The announcement coincided with Gulfstream’s unveiling of its latest business-jet family, including the Gulfstream G500 and G600. Qatar’s commitment includes firm orders and options for the new wide-cabin G500 and the flagship G650ER, both designed with improved cabin environments and industry-leading low cabin altitudes to enhance alertness and productivity while reducing passenger fatigue.

Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways, said the fleet expansion is aligned with the private jet division’s strategic growth goals. “To keep pace with our future plans, we are expanding the fleet with aircraft that meet our guests’ needs across a range of mission profiles,” he said. “The addition of G650ERs and G500s marks a significant step forward for Qatar Executive’s still-young yet dynamic fleet.”

Founded in 2009, Qatar Executive provides premium private aviation services, offering tailored air charter solutions for individuals, families, businesses, corporations and government clients. The fleet growth and the selection of long-range, comfort-focused Gulfstream models reflect the division’s focus on service quality, operational flexibility and passenger wellbeing on both short and extended missions.

Qatar’s selection of the G500 and G650ER underscores a priority on cabins that support passenger performance and comfort. These aircraft feature advanced environmental systems that maintain lower cabin altitude, improving oxygen levels and reducing the effects of long flights. For business and private travelers who require productivity in transit or minimal jet lag upon arrival, such features contribute to a more comfortable and efficient travel experience.

The expansion is also indicative of Qatar Executive’s broader market ambitions. As demand for high-end private travel continues to evolve, operators increasingly prioritize aircraft that combine range, speed and cabin comfort. By adding Gulfstream’s latest models, Qatar Executive strengthens its ability to serve diverse client needs—from short regional hops to ultra-long-range international missions—while maintaining high standards of luxury and safety.

With this order, Qatar Airways reinforces its commitment to expanding its private aviation offering while investing in aircraft that enhance passenger wellbeing and operational capability. The move aligns with industry trends toward more capable, passenger-focused business jets that support both leisure and corporate travel requirements.
