The Hotel Association of Portugal has launched an online platform designed to simplify hotel bookings for international travelers and address what it identified as a lack of effective online accessibility for Portuguese hospitality venues.
The platform, CLICK2PORTUGAL.com, offers travelers a straightforward and secure way to make online reservations. It was developed after research found that more than one third of Portuguese hotels do not offer direct online booking.
“This is an important step for our industry. Compared to many other European countries, Portugal will be one step ahead. Many hotels either don’t yet have an appropriate online presence, have no direct booking capability or no translation function — all of which limits their accessibility to tourists. The new CLICK2PORTUGAL.com portal aims to close that gap, giving all hotels the opportunity to connect with international travelers, properly showcase their offerings and help make Portugal more accessible,” said Raul Martins of AHP.
At launch, CLICK2PORTUGAL.com features more than 300 hotels, with additional properties expected to join the platform in the near future.
