Pivot Restaurant: Chef-Driven Tasting Menu in London’s West End

Maybe it’s the warm terracotta walls of the historic interior, the inviting fireplace and wide‑plank wooden floors, or the bursts of color from framed posters, labels and abstract art. Whatever it is, stepping into Pivot feels like entering a room where everyone is glad you’ve arrived.

Before your next trip to London, reserve a table and visit Pivot at 3 Henrietta Street. Slip off your coat and pause at the ground‑floor bar for a warming drink, or head upstairs to order from the main menu.

Intimate and refined, the Covent Garden restaurant offers a selection of tables and elegant leather banquettes. Pivot is the creative venture of British chef Mark Greenaway. Since opening in autumn 2021 it has earned recognition from the Michelin Guide, been awarded two AA Rosettes and received the Hardens Food Guide Certificate of Achievement.

Chef Greenaway has an established reputation: he was named Best Chef in Edinburgh at the Scottish Food Awards 2018 and received similar accolades from the Edinburgh Evening News Restaurant Awards the same year. He has held Three AA Rosettes for culinary excellence and has been recommended by the Michelin Guide across multiple years. Greenaway is also the author of Recipes from Restaurant Mark Greenaway, which won Best Cookbook in the World at the 2017 Gourmand Book Awards.

Pivot’s menus change with the seasons and showcase Greenaway’s imaginative takes on classic British dishes, highlighting locally sourced produce and quality ingredients. Begin with a warm spinach, artichoke and sweet potato dip served with fresh pita and a glass of Portuguese Vinho Verde, or enjoy a London‑made martini crafted with Sipsmith Sipping Vodka. Main courses include grilled langoustines with garlic and parsley butter, roasted cod fillet, and a range of thoughtful sides such as Dauphinoise potatoes, roasted beetroot, braised Roscoff onions and charred Hispi cabbage.

Local favorites on the menu include split‑roasted bone marrow with thyme and garlic served with warm pita, seasonal Cornish oysters, wild mushroom on toast, free‑range English chicken and Cumberland sausage. Desserts feature British classics like sticky toffee pudding with custard, a selection of English cheeses, and vanilla‑poached pear with softly whipped cream. Ice cream offerings rotate and often include salted caramel — an ideal match for a coffee from The Gentleman Baristas.
