Lufthansa now offers early seat reservations for certain economy fare classes, but passengers will pay a fee for the privilege.
Starting April 28, travelers on long-haul flights with tickets booked in fare classes W, S, T, L, and K can pay an additional €25 (approximately $35) per seat to reserve their seat in advance. Those in these specific booking classes who prefer not to pay can still select seats for free beginning 23 hours before departure.
Passengers holding tickets in other economy fare classes can continue to reserve seats in advance at no cost. Advance seat selection is also free in premium economy, business, and first class. Additionally, HON Circle members and Senators retain free advance seat reservation across all cabin classes.
This change aims to give travelers in select discounted economy fares the option of securing seats early while preserving complimentary advance seating for higher fares and elite members.
