Effective March 10, the renowned Orient-Express Hotels Ltd., operator of 45 luxury hotels and travel experiences, will be reborn as Belmond.
“We are excited to enter the next chapter of our journey with a name that reflects our character, resonates with our guests and captures the breadth of our celebrated collection of hotels, river cruises and trains,” said John M. Scott, president and CEO of Orient-Express Hotels Ltd. “Each of our iconic, one-of-a-kind luxury experiences inspires strong customer loyalty, and we are very proud of the heritage that makes us unique.”
Belmond’s new website, Belmond.com, will launch on March 10. The Belmond name will appear alongside each property’s individual brand, bringing the collection together under a single, cohesive identity.
“The new name gives us a fresh opportunity to tell our story — from romantic journeys across Europe aboard the authentic restored carriages of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, to exploring the undiscovered rivers of Myanmar aboard our river cruiser Orcaella, and enjoying sunset cocktails on the terrace of our newest hotel, El Encanto,” Scott said.
Belmond aims to emphasize the distinctive character of each property while unifying them under a clear collective voice, making it easier for travelers to discover and connect with the group’s luxury offerings around the world.
