Accor Hotels Group has announced that Singapore’s first Mondrian hotel will be developed in the heart of the city’s vibrant Duxton Hill neighborhood, with an opening targeted for early 2023. This launch follows Accor’s recent partnership with Ennismore, combining Ennismore’s expertise in brand creativity, storytelling and design with Accor’s global scale, network and distribution capabilities.
Mondrian Singapore Duxton is conceived as a luxury lifestyle hotel offering 300 guestrooms and suites, along with a restaurant, lounge and rooftop bar. The design merges the historic character of Singapore’s traditional shophouses with a newly built contemporary tower, creating a layered architectural identity that reflects the neighborhood’s heritage and modern energy.

“We are thrilled to bring the iconic Mondrian brand to Singapore’s Duxton Hill neighborhood,” said Chadi Farhat, COO of sbe Entertainment Group. “Mondrian is a natural fit for a global destination like Singapore. The property will provide a cultural hub of food and beverage experiences for locals and travelers alike. Mondrian Singapore will be more than a hotel; it will be a destination.”

Designed through a collaboration between DP Architects and Studio Carter, Mondrian Singapore integrates a lower three-storey block inspired by Singapore’s iconic shophouse typology with a contemporary new tower. The lower block echoes colonial-style window shutters and will house the hotel’s premier loft suites, while the taller tower will accommodate the majority of guestrooms along with a rooftop pool, bar and signature restaurant. Although set among terracotta-roofed shophouses, the hotel adopts a modern interpretation of that traditional architecture.

An urban oasis-style landscape deck will connect the two buildings and reference Singapore’s reputation as the “Garden City.” In addition to the rooftop pool, the hotel will include a speakeasy bar with a hidden entrance, offering an intimate venue for both visitors and residents to discover.
Mondrian Singapore will extend the brand’s luxury lifestyle presence in Southeast Asia. Located in the lively Duxton Hill area within Singapore’s Downtown Core, the hotel is well placed for guests seeking cultural discovery and nightlife. It is approximately 20 minutes from Changi Airport and within walking distance of the main business district, making it convenient for international travelers and business visitors seeking proximity to transport links and city attractions.
