Michelin-Star Dining on Seabourn’s World Cruise

Guests aboard SeabournSojourn’s 116-day world cruise, departing Los Angeles on Jan. 4, will enjoy the culinary skills and convivial presence of four Michelin-starred chefs. The Culinary Conversations program is part of Seabourn’s broader Seabourn Conversations onboard enrichment series. In this popular series, celebrated chefs present cooking demonstrations and contribute signature elements to the ship’s menus, giving diners a chance to taste and learn from leading culinary voices.

“Seabourn guests have a keen interest in food and wine,” said Richard D. Meadows, president of Seabourn. “They enjoy discovering new and diverse flavors while traveling, so we’re delighted to offer a wide range of cuisines during our voyages.

“Seabourn’s executive chefs often come from Michelin-starred backgrounds themselves, and they welcome the opportunity to meet and learn from fellow chefs who share their passion for exceptional cooking.”

The chefs taking part in the program include:

  • Bernd Siener, executive chef at Marburger Esszimmer in Germany
  • Christian Lohse, executive chef at Fischers Fritz in Germany
  • Andrew Fairlie, executive chef at Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland
  • Heiko Antoniewicz, known for his innovative work in molecular cuisine

These guest chefs will lead hands-on demonstrations, menu collaborations, and special dining events throughout the voyage, allowing guests to experience a range of culinary techniques and regional flavors. The program enhances Seabourn’s focus on fine dining, where intimate venues, attentive service, and high-quality ingredients combine to create memorable meals. Guests can look forward to tasting carefully crafted courses that showcase both traditional and contemporary approaches to gastronomy.

In addition to the scheduled Culinary Conversations events, Seabourn’s regular dining offerings will reflect the influence of these visiting chefs, with select dishes and seasonal specialties appearing on menus across the ship. This creates multiple opportunities for passengers to sample unique preparations, from elevated classics to inventive modern dishes, in relaxed or formal dining settings.

Seabourn’s enrichment series is designed to engage travelers who seek more than a typical cruise experience: alongside culinary programming, the series often includes lectures, arts presentations, and cultural activities that deepen passengers’ appreciation of the regions visited. On a world cruise, where guests call at diverse ports over an extended itinerary, these onboard events add context and enjoyment to the journey.

For travelers who prioritize food and wine as central elements of their vacation, the chance to interact with Michelin-caliber chefs at sea is a distinctive highlight. Whether attending a demonstration, savoring a collaborative menu, or simply enjoying an inspired dish at dinner, guests can expect thoughtfully prepared cuisine that complements Seabourn’s luxurious small-ship ambiance.
