Maui Facelift: Luxury Cosmetic Surgery in Hawaii

Maui landmark Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, has announced a comprehensive $30 million renovation. Scheduled to begin with a rollout in early 2015, the renovation will refresh guestroom interiors and upgrade meeting spaces and pool facilities.

Environmental sustainability is central to the redesign of the guestrooms. Planned features include energy-efficient LED lighting, carpeting made from recycled materials, and decorative accent rugs woven from repurposed nylon fishing nets.

Since opening in 1991, Grand Wailea has occupied 40 acres of landscaped tropical gardens fronting Wailea Beach, offering guests resort amenities set within lush surroundings.

The planned improvements aim to enhance guest comfort and modernize public and private areas while maintaining the resort’s commitment to the island’s natural beauty and conservation-minded practices. By combining updated design elements with eco-friendly materials and technologies, the resort intends to deliver a refreshed experience that respects local resources.

Renovations to meeting and event spaces will focus on creating more functional, contemporary environments for conferences and gatherings, while pool area upgrades are expected to improve both aesthetics and guest usability. These changes are intended to support a variety of guest needs, from leisure stays to business events.

As the resort prepares for the renovation, guests and planners can anticipate modernized accommodations that reflect current sustainability trends without sacrificing the resort’s signature Hawaiian atmosphere. The project underscores Grand Wailea’s ongoing investment in quality, design, and environmental stewardship.
