Marriott Debuts New Hotels in Riyadh: What Travelers Need to Know

Marriott has opened two new properties in Riyadh: the Riyadh Marriott Hotel Diplomatic Quarter and the Marriott Executive Apartments Riyadh, Diplomatic Quarter. Located about a 30-minute drive from King Khalid International Airport, the complex expands Marriott’s presence in the city’s Diplomatic Quarter.

The development includes the neighborhood’s first five-star, full-service hotel alongside 140 executive apartments. The hotel offers 80 well-appointed guestrooms designed with contemporary décor, generous workspaces and modern in-room technology. Accommodation options include six premium suites and a presidential suite; suite guests have access to the 24-hour M Club Lounge, which serves a buffet and light hors d’oeuvres.

Dining options at the Riyadh Marriott Hotel Diplomatic Quarter comprise an all-day dining restaurant, an á la carte restaurant and a café, providing a range of culinary choices for guests. Leisure and social facilities include an open-air swimming pool, a 24-hour fitness center and a traditional Turkish hammam, catering to both relaxation and wellness needs.

The hotel has been developed to meet LEED Gold Certification standards, reflecting a commitment to sustainable design and energy-efficient operations.

“We are delighted to enhance our footprint in Saudi Arabia with the opening of two strategically important hotels that not only complement each other but also deliver very distinct brand experiences. Saudi Arabia continues to be one of our key markets and we are delighted to further strengthen our partnership with Dur Hospitality,” said Alex Kyriakidis, president and managing director, Middle East & Africa, Marriott International.

These openings reinforce Marriott’s strategy to grow its offerings in high-demand business and diplomatic districts, providing options for short-term travelers and longer-stay guests seeking serviced apartments with hotel-style amenities. The combination of a luxury hotel and executive apartments aims to meet diverse guest needs—business travelers, diplomatic staff and leisure visitors—while supporting Riyadh’s expanding hospitality sector.

With modern guestroom technology, dedicated lounge access for suite guests, multiple dining venues and comprehensive wellness facilities, the new Riyadh properties position themselves as convenient and comfortable choices for travelers to the Diplomatic Quarter.
