Mandarin Oriental Munich Announces Major Expansion Plans

Mandarin Oriental International has announced plans to partner with project developer Wöhr + Bauer Projekt HTW GmbH & Co. KG and its parent company Wöhr + Bauer GmbH to expand its Munich property with a new mixed-use development on an adjacent site. The development, scheduled for completion in 2021, includes new guest rooms and amenities, as well as a refurbishment of the hotel’s existing 73 guestrooms.

The proposed scheme will also feature 19 luxury branded residences, retail space, commercial offices and underground parking. The design aims to create a lively, high-quality destination that reflects Munich’s blend of tradition and modern innovation while serving both local residents and international travelers.

“Our goal is to develop a vibrant destination that combines Munich’s tradition and innovation in a new, high-quality mixed-use development designed to appeal to the city’s residents and international visitors alike,” said Wolfgang Roeck, managing partner of Wöhr + Bauer. “We are delighted to partner with Mandarin Oriental to deliver sought-after branded residences and to expand Munich’s most luxurious hotel.”
