Top of the list is the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting on Dec. 6, a long-standing New York City tradition featuring live performances and a festive atmosphere that draws viewers from around the globe. In Chicago, the Museum of Science and Industry presents “Christmas Around the World,” an exhibit that showcases 50 lit trees representing the diverse cultures and holiday customs found throughout the city. The museum’s 45-foot Grand Tree traces its origins to 1942, when it was dedicated to the World War II allies. The exhibit includes indoor snow showers and live performances and runs from Nov. 19 through Jan. 3.
The Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival combines decorative illumination with fireworks for a dramatic kickoff celebration. Held on Nov. 19, the festival lights up downtown with thousands of bulbs and a large fireworks display. Through Dec. 27, the Jingle Bus offers guided rides around the city to view the most notable displays and landmarks, making it easy to experience Milwaukee’s seasonal highlights.
Orlando delivers holiday magic regardless of its warm climate. The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights pairs synchronized light displays with holiday music for a captivating experience, while Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party provides a festive evening for families and kids to celebrate with beloved characters and seasonal entertainment.
