The Luxury Collection recently added North Island in the Seychelles to its portfolio, marking the brand’s first property in the destination.
North Island is an intimate private-island retreat with 11 oceanfront villas, each approaching 5,000 square feet and designed to maximize privacy, natural light and views. The resort’s facilities include a public lounge and dining room, a spa and fitness center, an infinity pool, and a sunset bar and restaurant situated on a separate part of the island. Guests can also visit an on-site library that houses a natural history collection and hosts regular marine-life presentations.
Sustainability is integral to North Island’s design and operation. Villas and public spaces incorporate locally sourced materials such as wood, stone and glass, and the resort’s guest activities are curated to minimize environmental impact while highlighting the island’s unique ecosystems.
“The Seychelles is a true Luxury Collection destination, and one that we have been keen to offer to global explorers for quite some time,” said Anthony Ingham, global brand leader for The Luxury Collection. “Home to some of the world’s most beautiful islands, with endless white sand beaches and coral reefs, lush mountain rainforests and rare animals, the Seychelles archipelago is an untouched paradise with over 115 islands to discover. The Luxury Collection is thrilled to announce the joining of North Island later this year — one of the most exclusive and exotic locations in the Indian Ocean.”
North Island is accessed from Mahé by boat or helicopter, providing a scenic arrival that complements the secluded character of the property.
