The Liberty, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Boston has completed an $11 million renovation of its guestrooms. Housed within the restored architecture of the historic Charles Street Jail, the hotel updated 298 guest rooms with a fresh, sophisticated design that honors the building’s character while introducing modern comforts.
The redesign introduces herringbone wall coverings, hardwood floors, leather headboards, granite vanities and other refined finishes. Many rooms now offer views of Beacon Hill and the Charles River, enhancing the guest experience with classic Boston scenery.
“The Liberty’s renovation project is a cornerstone in The Luxury Collection brand’s $300 million investment effort to renovate and reopen some of the most iconic hotels in North America. We are thrilled to deliver enhanced accommodations while still allowing guests to experience the authenticity of one of Boston’s most notable landmarks,” said Hoyt H. Harper II, global brand leader, The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts.
The renovation also included updates to the hotel’s signature suites, such as the Ebersol and Charles River suites. The Ebersol Suite features floor-to-ceiling, wrap-around windows, a dedicated living area, a dining space, a butler pantry, a library, a master bedroom and a spacious outdoor patio, all designed to provide a luxurious, residential feel for extended stays or special occasions.
“The Liberty has been an innovator in the Boston hotel market since we opened eight years ago, and this renovation is an exciting new page in The Liberty’s chaptered history. We combine a luxurious environment with an energetic and unique social backdrop that offers visitors and local residents an exceptional experience beyond compare,” said Rachel Moniz, general manager of The Liberty.
The guestroom renovation reinforces the hotel’s commitment to blending historical preservation with contemporary design, delivering redesigned spaces that respect the landmark’s past while meeting modern expectations for comfort, functionality and style.
