Within the next three to four years, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants will introduce its first properties in Asia, expanding the IHG boutique brand into new markets on the continent.
The brand plans to begin accepting bookings for its first Chinese hotel by 2021. Located in Haitang Bay, Hainan province, the property will feature 251 guestrooms, a rooftop pool and direct access to the nearby Sanya beaches, combining coastal relaxation with contemporary boutique design.
Also scheduled to open in 2021 is Kimpton Shanghai Jing’an, a smaller urban property with 150 hotel rooms and 120 guest villas. Housed in buildings that date to the early 1900s, the Shanghai location aims to blend historic architecture with modern boutique comforts.
Further south, a villa-only Kimpton resort in Bali, Indonesia, is scheduled for completion in 2019. The Bali property will offer coastal views and incorporate Balinese cultural elements throughout the villas and public spaces. Guests will be able to request in-room yoga mats and other amenities designed to enhance relaxation and well-being while taking in the island’s scenery.
Like other Kimpton hotels, these new properties will emphasize locally inspired dining, on-site spa services, curated social hours and arrangements for local experiences and activities. The brand’s approach focuses on personalized service, thoughtful design and a strong sense of place, ensuring each location reflects its destination while delivering consistent luxury and hospitality standards.
