Mexico’s newest luxury destination has arrived in the Riviera Maya, bringing three world-class resorts along the Caribbean shoreline. Kanai occupies 680 acres of coastal land, bordered by lush jungle, serene mangrove forests and miles of powdery white-sand beaches. Designed as a fresh take on ecotourism, Kanai pairs high-end hospitality with environmental stewardship, offering travelers immersive experiences that highlight the natural beauty of the region and the importance of preserving it.

Resorts now operating at Kanai include Etéreo, Auberge Resorts Collection; The Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai; and The St. Regis Kanai Resort, Riviera Maya. Mandarin Oriental Kanai is scheduled to open in 2027, adding another high-profile option to the site’s growing portfolio.

Etéreo emphasizes exceptional cuisine, meaningful nature encounters, pristine beaches and holistic wellness offerings. The Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai, which opened in February, features 182 guestrooms and suites, a lagoon-sized pool, flexible meeting facilities and North America’s largest penthouse suite. The EDITION also unveiled a cenote-inspired spa last year, enhancing its wellness-focused amenities. The St. Regis Kanai Resort, Riviera Maya offers 124 guestrooms, suites and private residences with dramatic ocean views, private terraces and plunge pools. Guests at the St. Regis can also enjoy a dedicated spa, signature butler service and thoughtfully curated culinary programs.

Each resort within Kanai delivers a distinct and exclusive experience, ranging from expansive, amenity-rich escapes to more intimate, secluded hideaways. This year’s new openings and partnerships expand the destination’s culinary and lifestyle offerings, including bespoke iterations of Hamptons-based restaurant Dureya’s and a resort outpost from men’s apparel brand Orlebar Brown. Together, these properties and collaborations position Kanai as a refined, sustainable destination for travelers seeking both luxury and a deeper connection to the Riviera Maya’s natural landscape.
