JetBlue Airways has added mobile boarding to its app, enabling customers to download electronic boarding passes to their iPhone or iPod Touch and save time at check-in, security and boarding. The mobile boarding passes are available for flights departing from Boston (BOS), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Las Vegas (LAS), Los Angeles (LGB), New York (JFK), Orlando (MCO), San Francisco (SFO) and San Juan (SJU).
Passengers can check in through the app and receive a paperless boarding pass displayed as an encrypted two-dimensional barcode that contains passenger and flight information. At the security checkpoint, TSA agents scan the barcode to verify the boarding pass. This digital option reduces the need for printed documents and streamlines the airport experience for mobile users.
Beyond mobile boarding, the updated app includes features that help travelers manage their trips: customers can search for and book flights using TrueBlue points, consult timetables to view flight schedules, and access refreshed city guides with practical information for their destination. These additions are designed to make travel planning more convenient and to provide quick access to essential travel information from a single mobile interface.
By adopting mobile boarding passes, JetBlue aims to speed up common airport processes while maintaining security through encrypted barcodes and standard TSA scanning procedures. The app’s expanded booking and planning tools also support frequent flyers and occasional travelers alike, giving users an integrated way to handle reservations, check schedules and explore destination details on their mobile devices.
