MSC Cruises has revealed plans for its latest Seaside-class ship, set to debut in November 2017. Called MSC Seaside, the vessel is designed to operate year-round from Miami, offering regular Caribbean itineraries and a range of modern onboard amenities.
The ship will accommodate up to 4,140 guests and introduces a highly interactive waterpark concept tailored to all ages. Highlights include five distinct water slides and a series of attractions that blend thrills with family-friendly activities. One standout attraction is a combined slide-and-video-game experience: guests ride a two-story, 367-foot slide on a specially designed raft that features an embedded game controller with colored buttons, allowing riders to race and compete during the descent. The ship also offers dueling high-speed AquaTubes for side-by-side racing, an AquaPlay splash area geared specifically toward toddlers, and an Adventure Trail ropes course that connects towering structures with rope bridges, climbs, crawl-through elements and slides.
Beyond the waterpark, the Seaside-class design emphasizes innovative public spaces and a close connection to the sea, with open promenades, expansive glass surfaces and wide outdoor areas intended to maximize views and natural light. The layout focuses on bringing passengers closer to the ocean while providing a variety of dining, entertainment and relaxation options suited to couples, families and groups.
MSC Cruises currently operates a fleet of 12 modern ships serving routes across the Mediterranean, the French Antilles, northern Europe, the Atlantic, South Africa and South America, as well as seasonal deployments in Dubai, the Emirates and Oman. The introduction of MSC Seaside represents a continued effort by the line to expand its presence in North America and to offer innovative onboard experiences tailored to contemporary travelers seeking both adventure and comfort.
