Elie Maalouf, chief executive officer of IHG Hotels & Resorts, emphasized the company’s strategic investments: “IHG continues to invest in efforts that strengthen our brand portfolio while building trust and confidence among our guests. We continue to see strong growth in the Americas and around the world, notably among our Suites brands and the Holiday Inn brand family and through the addition of exceptional Luxury & Lifestyle properties and brand debuts in key markets. With more than 4,300 Americas hotels among a more than 6,300-property global portfolio that spans 19 new and iconic brands, we’re excited for the future and well positioned to deliver even greater levels of exceptional guest service.”
Highlights of IHG’s brand expansion include:
- Holiday Inn operates more than 1,200 hotels worldwide and has roughly 250 properties in its development pipeline.
- Garner debuted in the U.S. with a hotel in Seattle in late 2023 and has since launched properties in Japan, Mexico, and Canada. Garner is now franchise-ready across Europe as well as in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. IHG projects Garner could grow to more than 500 open hotels within the next 10 years and as many as 1,000 hotels in the United States alone over 20 years.
- Candlewood Suites maintains an open and pipeline estate of more than 520 hotels across the Americas, serving extended-stay travelers and business guests.
- Between 2024 and 2028, up to 108 NOVUM Hospitality hotels (15,334 rooms) and 11 additional hotels under development (2,369 rooms) are expected to join the IHG system. Conversions will occur in phases beginning in 2024, with the majority planned over the following 24 months, which could increase IHG’s global system size by up to 1.9 percent.
IHG is also prioritizing sustainability, incorporating green and low-carbon solutions into the guest experience and business operations. This approach aligns with growing corporate and guest demand for environmentally responsible travel options.
Through IHG Business Edge, companies can secure guaranteed discounts at more than 6,000 participating IHG Hotels & Resorts worldwide, making it easier to manage travel costs while enjoying consistent benefits across the network.
