IHG’s relatively new avid brand—designed around restful sleep, modern technology and a high-quality breakfast—continues to expand into new markets this year.
Last week saw the openings of two new properties: avid hotel Oklahoma City Airport and avid hotel Tulsa South — Medical District. These additions are part of a larger growth plan, with more than 180 avid hotels currently in the pipeline.
“In partnership with Champion Hotels and Hi-Tech Hospitality, we are excited to grow from one to three avid hotels properties now open. The impressive construction timeline is a compelling proof point of owner belief in the brand and strong consumer demand for a hotel stay that is laser-focused on the amenities and experiences that are most important, like a great night’s sleep, cleanliness and a fresh cup of coffee with a balanced breakfast offering,” said Jennifer Gribble, vice president, avid hotels, IHG.
IHG expects to open several additional avid hotels before year-end. Planned U.S. openings include Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Beaumont, Texas; Grovetown, Georgia; Perry, Georgia; Monona, Wisconsin; Orlando, Florida; Midland, Texas; Portland, Texas; and Yukon, Oklahoma. The brand is also expanding internationally, with properties underway in Germany, Mexico and Canada.
Focused on essential comforts and efficient design, avid hotels target travelers who prioritize a dependable stay: comfortable beds, reliable tech features, clean rooms and a convenient breakfast. By concentrating on these core elements, the brand aims to offer consistent value across new and existing locations while streamlining operations for owners and franchise partners.
With a growing development pipeline and a strategy centered on guest needs, avid hotels are positioning themselves to meet rising demand for straightforward, quality lodging in both domestic and international markets.
