IHG and Uber Partner to Simplify On-Demand Travel Planning

InterContinental Hotels Group and Uber have joined forces to make travel simpler and more rewarding for hotel guests. The partnership allows travelers to request rides directly from the IHG app using the Uber platform, creating a smoother door-to-door experience. In early 2016, the service will also include Uber Ride Reminders, helping guests schedule transportation for departures and arrivals.

As part of the launch promotion in the United States, new Uber users who sign up through the offer can earn 2,000 IHG Rewards Club points and receive $20 off their first Uber ride. This incentive is designed to introduce travelers to the integrated experience while rewarding loyalty members for using the combined services.

The integration aims to streamline transportation planning by connecting hotel reservations, loyalty benefits, and ride-hailing in a single workflow. Guests can access transportation options without leaving the IHG app, reducing friction during check-in, check-out, or when preparing for departure.
