The Knickerbocker Hotel has partnered with renowned tobacconist Nat Sherman to launch a rooftop cigar lounge. Scheduled to open this fall, the upscale lounge will feature a carefully curated selection of Nat Sherman cigars, including favorites from the Sterling, 1930 and Timeless Collections.
Michael Herklots, Vice President at Nat Sherman, will be on hand to offer expert cigar pairing recommendations designed to complement Chef Charlie Palmer’s contemporary menu and the rooftop bar’s handcrafted cocktails at St. Cloud. Guests will be able to enjoy suggested pairings while taking in the city views, or purchase select Nat Sherman cigars at the hotel’s signature restaurant and bar, Charlie Palmer at The Knick.
This collaboration brings together two storied New York names: The Knickerbocker, an iconic hotel known for its elegant style and history, and Nat Sherman, a respected name in premium cigars. William Sherman, Executive Vice President of Nat Sherman, noted that the partnership aligns with the brand’s philosophy and aesthetic, citing The Knickerbocker’s heritage, Chef Palmer’s culinary vision, and the hotel’s high level of service as ideal complements to the Nat Sherman experience.
The rooftop lounge will provide a refined setting for both seasoned cigar enthusiasts and newcomers. With knowledgeable staff guiding pairings and a selection drawn from Nat Sherman’s notable collections, the venue aims to create an approachable yet sophisticated destination for enjoying cigars alongside thoughtfully prepared food and cocktails.
In addition to on-site enjoyment at St. Cloud, the availability of Nat Sherman cigars at Charlie Palmer at The Knick ensures guests can continue their experience within the hotel’s other dining and bar spaces. The hotel’s integration of premium cigars into its beverage and culinary program reflects a broader trend of elevating tobacco offerings through pairing and presentation, emphasizing quality and hospitality.
As opening day approaches this fall, The Knickerbocker’s rooftop lounge is expected to attract both local patrons and visitors seeking a distinctive New York cigar experience. The partnership highlights a convergence of craftsmanship — from Nat Sherman’s cigar-making expertise to Chef Palmer’s inventive dishes and the hotel’s refined service — promising a memorable rooftop destination.
