Iberia has become the first airline to take delivery of the Airbus A330-200 MTOW 242 T model earlier this month. This modern, fuel-efficient jet is the first of 13 aircraft scheduled to join Iberia’s fleet over the next three years and introduces the carrier’s updated cabin layout.
The new Business Plus section features seats that provide direct aisle access and recline into fully flat beds, improving comfort on long-haul routes. Each passenger also benefits from a personal touchscreen giving access to Iberia’s extensive in-flight entertainment program, which includes recent movies, music, television series, interactive games and documentaries.
The A330-200 MTOW 242 T offers enhanced operating efficiency and range compared with previous variants, helping Iberia expand its route flexibility while reducing fuel consumption. The cabin redesign emphasizes passenger comfort and modern amenities across classes, aligning with the airline’s fleet renewal plan.
Over the next three years, Iberia will integrate the remaining aircraft of this order, gradually introducing the updated seating and onboard systems across affected routes. The rollout supports the airline’s broader strategy to modernize its long-haul operations and elevate the passenger experience with quieter cabins, improved connectivity and updated entertainment options.
Incorporating newer, more efficient aircraft into the fleet also aids Iberia’s environmental objectives by lowering per-seat fuel burn and emissions. Passengers can expect a more comfortable, tech-forward travel experience as the airline deploys these A330-200s across its network.
