Iberia has given the Velázquez Premium Lounge in Terminal 4, satellite building at Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD), a comprehensive refurbishment designed to enhance the travel experience.
“Resting, working, enjoying a refreshment or waiting calmly for your flight now has a new meaning; we have improved every aspect, with special attention to connectivity and food service, to deliver an unrivaled customer experience,” said Gabriel Perdiguero, Iberia’s director of customer and business transformation.
The lounge has been expanded by 25 percent to accommodate up to 500 passengers. The refurbishment emphasizes connectivity: USB charging ports are integrated into lounge chairs and dining tables, and an open work area provides flexible meeting and work space for business travelers.
Technology enhances the dining experience as well. Touchscreen tablets in the buffet area offer information about the available food and beverages and provide recommendations to help guests choose.
Dining options have been upgraded to include sit-down, restaurant-style service alongside hot and cold buffets. The menu features both Spanish and international dishes, and a selection of regional wines complements beers and spirits to suit varied tastes.
Passenger comfort has been a priority. The lounge now includes six private shower booths equipped with essential amenities, a rest area with chaise lounges suitable for short naps, and a dedicated children’s zone with entertainment designed for younger travelers.
“The new Velázquez Premium Lounge is another step toward our goal of continuously improving customer services and offering passengers the most enjoyable travel experience when they fly with Iberia,” added Perdiguero.
