Hyatt Expands Hotel Footprint Across China in 2026

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Grand Hyatt Shenyang, marking the brand’s first property in Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning Province in northeast China. The new hotel occupies a newly constructed 29-story tower on Qingnian Avenue and brings international luxury accommodation to a key regional gateway city.

Grand Hyatt Shenyang offers 353 well-appointed guestrooms and 34 suites designed to combine modern aesthetics with residential comfort. Guests can choose from a variety of room types that cater to families, business travelers and leisure guests seeking spacious, contemporary accommodations in the heart of the city.

The hotel’s dining program features eight food and beverage outlets, each intended to provide distinct culinary experiences ranging from casual dining to refined, signature restaurants and lounges. These venues are designed to serve both local residents and hotel guests, with menus that showcase international flavors alongside carefully curated regional specialties.

Wellness and recreation facilities at Grand Hyatt Shenyang include a full-service spa with six treatment rooms offering a range of therapies, a modern fitness center equipped for comprehensive workouts, and an indoor swimming pool suitable for relaxation and low-impact exercise. These amenities support both short stays and extended visits, allowing guests to maintain routines while traveling.

For meetings and events, the property provides more than 36,920 square feet of flexible event space. The meeting and ballroom facilities are outfitted to host everything from corporate conferences and product launches to weddings and social gatherings, with professional event planning support and modern audiovisual capabilities.

Christopher Koehler, Hyatt’s vice president of operations for China, commented that the opening of Grand Hyatt Shenyang strengthens the brand’s presence in China and aligns with Hyatt’s strategy to expand in key gateway cities and markets frequented by its guests. By delivering a blend of contemporary design, residential comfort and comprehensive service offerings, the new hotel aims to raise the standard for luxury hospitality in Shenyang.

This opening adds to Hyatt’s growing footprint in China, where the company currently operates 20 additional properties. The arrival of Grand Hyatt Shenyang underscores continued investment in the region and supports demand from both domestic and international travelers visiting northeast China.
