Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced a new Hyatt-branded hotel scheduled to open in Malta in 2021. Under a franchise agreement with Bay Street Holdings Limited, this will be the first Hyatt property in Malta and will be located in St. Julian’s. The coastal town will host a 153-room resort designed to serve families, business travelers and leisure guests alike.
The timing of the opening aligns with Malta’s growing appeal as a travel destination. Tourism to the island has increased significantly over the past decade, drawing more upscale business and leisure travelers each year. St. Julian’s is especially convenient for visitors, offering proximity to shopping, dining, entertainment and nearby beaches.
The new resort will be approximately a 20-minute drive from Malta International Airport and from the UNESCO World Heritage city of Valletta.
To accommodate business and events needs, the hotel will include flexible meeting spaces and is planned to feature a five-story underground car park, supporting a wide range of gatherings and conferences.
