Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin Unveils Augmented Reality App

Situated directly across from Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate, Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin is long known as one of the city’s most elegant and luxurious addresses. The hotel has now introduced an augmented reality smartphone app that lets guests and visitors explore four signature locations within the historic property. The experience combines 360-degree visuals with audio narration by German voice actors Range Bonalana and Tom Vogt, familiar to audiences as the German dubbing voices for actors such as Colin Firth and Renée Zellweger.

Developed in partnership with Berlin start-up ZAUBAR, the Adlon AR app begins with a guided journey through the hotel’s 116-year history. Users are led along Pariser Platz and down the hotel’s red carpet, greeted by a virtual bellboy, and then invited into the lobby where scenes are presented in immersive 360-degree mode.

A highlight of the app is a virtual visit to the hotel’s iconic royal suite, historically used by heads of state, royals and international celebrities. Within this suite, users encounter the butler Ricardo, an interactive character who represents the service available across the hotel’s three presidential suites.

The tour concludes with the hotel’s two-Michelin-starred restaurant, Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer, which opens its virtual doors and presents sample menus for users to explore. At each AR station, visitors can capture photos and videos of the interactive 3-D scenes on their smartphones. Media created in the app are saved with an Adlon watermark for convenient sharing on social platforms.

The Adlon AR app is free to download and available for iOS and Android devices. It provides an engaging way to experience the hotel’s history, architecture and hospitality from anywhere, whether planning a stay or simply discovering one of Berlin’s most famous landmarks.
