Hotel 1000 Seattle: Luxury Downtown Waterfront Hotel Guide

Arrival/Check-in: I arrived around 10 p.m. There was no doorman outside, but the front desk staff greeted me warmly and completed a quick, efficient check-in. They asked if I was familiar with the hotel’s amenities; I was not, so they provided a concise overview of the on-site bar and restaurant, gym, spa, and golf club. Shortly after, I was shown to my room. (27/30)

Guest Quarters: The room felt spacious and comfortable, with a sleek, modern design that blended Asian influences with Pacific Northwest style. Dark woods and earthy tones accented both the bedroom and the large contemporary bathroom. The suite included a separate sitting room and bedroom, each with a large flat-screen TV. The sitting room proved useful as a work area. The bed was exceptionally comfortable—on par with favorites at luxury properties such as the Ritz-Carlton and comparable to the Westin Heavenly Bed. (29/30)

Services/Amenities: The hotel’s thoughtful use of technology stood out throughout my stay. Systems are clearly designed to enhance the guest experience without being intrusive. One particularly impressive feature was the discreet housekeeping doorbell system: staff can press a button that sends an infrared signal into the room to detect heat and determine whether a guest is present. This effectively prevents unexpected interruptions—especially useful when you’re rushing in the morning. Complimentary wireless internet and a VOIP phone system made connectivity easy. The property offers fully wired meeting spaces suitable for small- to medium-sized events, along with a compact, well-equipped gym and a spa.

The digital golf club is a notable highlight: two life-sized screens simulate 50 world-class courses, allowing guests to play a full 18 holes indoors. The venue also offers Scotch and cigars, making it an appealing option for client meetings or entertainment within the city, or simply a fun activity on a rainy Seattle day. I had lunch at BOKA Kitchen and Bar and enjoyed very fresh salmon—no surprise given the hotel’s proximity to Pike Place Market. In the evenings the restaurant transforms into a lively Seattle bar, creating a good atmosphere for both dining and socializing. (39/40)

The Experience: Overall, the hotel delivers a high-tech luxury experience in a manageable, personable setting. The property is large enough to provide privacy and comfort, yet compact and professional enough to offer attentive, individualized service. I found the stay to be world-class; for the best experience, request a room with a full view of Puget Sound.
