Located in Charleston’s oldest neighborhood, established in the 18th century by Lord Anson, the hotel occupies a setting rich in history and character. The property offers 45 thoughtfully designed guestrooms, ranging from classic luxury rooms to expansive suite configurations. Many spaces showcase dramatic 16- to 20-foot-high ceilings, exposed brick and timber details that reflect the building’s architectural heritage.
Rooms are well appointed with modern conveniences, including a Keurig coffeemaker, mini-fridge, wet bar in most accommodations, and 65-inch televisions. The 871-square-foot Admiral Suite functions like a private apartment, featuring a walk-in shower, Peloton bike, dining table and a gas fireplace—ideal for longer stays or guests seeking extra space and comfort.

Each stay includes a complimentary continental breakfast featuring fresh-baked goods, seasonal fruit and chilled juices, providing a simple and satisfying start to the day.
The newly added Scarborough & Squirrel Bar serves elevated light fare alongside a curated selection of artisanal cocktails, beers and wines. The bar’s intimate layout includes a hidden poker room tucked behind a discreet bookcase, adding a playful, private element for guests seeking a unique experience.

Another new feature is the Rooftop Garden, an exclusive outdoor oasis reserved for guests. The rooftop offers comfortable seating areas, fire pits and integrated surround sound, all framed by views of historic church steeples and the Cooper River Bridge—an ideal spot to relax and take in Charleston’s skyline.
With its blend of historic charm and contemporary amenities, The Ansonborough Charleston aims to provide a welcoming, authentic stay for visitors who want to explore the city from a well-located, characterful base.
