Hilton Cleveland Downtown Seeks Local Artists for Exhibition

The Hilton Cleveland Downtown, currently under construction and scheduled to open in June 2016, is inviting Cuyahoga County residents to submit photographs for a special art installation that will be featured in the new hotel.

Photographers should follow the submission rules and upload a snapshot that captures an authentic Cleveland moment or location. Entries should show a clear, recent image of the photographer in a setting that feels distinctly local.

“Our goal is for the faces of the Cuyahoga County community to come together to create a photo-mosaic that will be displayed in the lobby of the hotel,” said Teri Agosta, general manager of the Hilton Cleveland Downtown.

One contributor will be selected to receive a complimentary weekend stay at the hotel as a thank-you for participating in the mural and mosaic project.

“Use your phone, have fun and get creative,” Agosta added. “This is a great opportunity for Cuyahoga County residents to add their personal touch to the hotel’s design and contribute to its local art collection.”

Submissions are intended to reflect the diversity and character of the community. Entrants are encouraged to choose locations that showcase Cleveland’s landmarks, neighborhoods, parks, public art, or everyday scenes that convey a sense of place. Images that emphasize authenticity and personality will help the mosaic represent the region’s residents and spirit.

The project aims to create a welcoming focal point in the hotel lobby that celebrates local people and places. By combining individual portraits into a larger mosaic, the installation will visually connect guests to the community and offer a memorable, locally sourced artwork for visitors and residents alike.

Participants should ensure their photos meet any stated technical requirements and respect privacy when including other people. Photographers retain responsibility for their submissions and should only upload images they have the right to share. Creative, well-composed photos taken with a smartphone are perfectly suitable.

If you live in Cuyahoga County and want to be part of a community-driven piece of public art, take a few moments to capture a Cleveland moment and submit your photo. Your image could become part of a permanent installation that highlights the people and places that make the region unique.
