Finnair’s exclusive Platinum Wing lounge in Helsinki opened in the summer of 2019 and recently marked its fifth anniversary. Reserved for Finnair and oneworld top-tier travelers, the lounge provides a calm, stylish space to drink, dine and relax before departure. Inspired by Nordic design, the interior includes dedicated zones for working, unwinding and dining, and it accommodates up to 155 guests at a time.

The lounge features a dedicated à la carte dining area that highlights local ingredients and Nordic flavors. Menu items showcase regional produce, including a Reindeer Burger made from locally sourced smoked reindeer blended with beef. The kitchen also offers a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes, while an upscale bar serves curated drinks to complement the food selection.
Meri Järvinen, Head of Airport Customer Experience at Finnair, commented, “As one of Finnair’s trademark features, the Platinum Wing has been a hit since its launch five years ago, giving customers a final taste of Finland before take-off. Having sown the seed for premium Nordic travel back in summer 2019, we have since launched newly designed Business Class lounges in both the Schengen and non-Schengen areas of Helsinki Airport, as we continue to invest in the ground experience for our loyal customers.”

One of the lounge’s standout features is its sauna—still rare among airport lounges worldwide. Finished in darkened natural aspen wood, the sauna recreates an authentic Finnish experience with a cool-down area, organic skin-care amenities and soft, natural mood lighting to enhance relaxation.
Located in Helsinki Airport’s non-Schengen zone, the Platinum Wing is available to Finnair Plus Platinum Lumo and Platinum members, as well as oneworld Emerald cardholders. The lounge’s combination of local flavors, thoughtful design and unique amenities aims to deliver a distinctly Finnish hospitality experience for premium travelers.
