Finnair Adds New Seasonal Flights: Routes, Dates & Booking Guide

Finnair, Finland’s flag carrier, announced plans to operate a non-stop seasonal route between Helsinki (HEL) and Tromsø, Norway (TOS) for the 2014 winter season. The service to the Arctic city will be flown on behalf of Finnair by Flybe Finland three times weekly using Embraer E90 aircraft. Flights are scheduled to run from January 1 through March 28, 2014.

Tromsø, a city of about 70,000 residents located within the auroral oval, is a popular destination for viewing the Aurora Borealis on clear winter nights. The new seasonal flights depart Helsinki at 20:15 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with return departures from Tromsø at 21:55 on the same days.

The addition of Tromsø expands the oneworld alliance’s global network, which encompasses more than 850 destinations across 150 countries, and gives travelers another convenient option for reaching northern Norway from Helsinki.
