Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is expanding its luxury portfolio in Europe with the acquisition of the 432-room Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I in Barcelona. The property will be rebranded as Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos I this autumn, and a comprehensive renovation is scheduled to begin in 2015. Situated on Barcelona’s main thoroughfare, Avinguda Diagonal, the hotel provides a wide range of amenities, including several dining options, extensive banquet and meeting facilities, a fully equipped fitness center, and a spa featuring both indoor and outdoor pools with 13 treatment rooms.
