Emirates has introduced Airbus A380 service between Dubai (DXB) and London Gatwick (LGW), becoming the first airline to operate the A380 to Gatwick. Hubert Frach, divisional senior vice president of commercial operations west at Emirates, noted that even six years after its introduction, the A380 remains a strong draw for passengers and that airports worldwide welcome the aircraft on their schedules. The A380 cabin on Emirates includes private first-class suites and onboard shower spas, alongside fully flat business-class seats, offering a premium travel experience.
The airline will operate the A380 daily on this route. Flight EK9 departs Dubai at 3:00 p.m. and arrives at Gatwick at 7:30 p.m., while return flight EK10 leaves Gatwick at 9:15 p.m. and arrives in Dubai at 7:20 a.m. the following day. These timings provide convenient evening departures and morning arrivals for travelers in both directions.
Emirates’ decision to bring the A380 to Gatwick expands options for passengers seeking a high-comfort experience on a major long-haul route. The aircraft’s distinctive amenities, including the first-class private suites and onboard shower facilities, set it apart from typical widebody service and reflect the carrier’s focus on luxury and customer comfort. Business-class passengers also benefit from lie-flat seating that enhances rest on overnight sectors.
Introducing the A380 at Gatwick also signals growing demand for premium services on the Dubai–London market and highlights Emirates’ strategy of deploying its flagship aircraft on routes where it can deliver a standout product. For travelers, the daily A380 service offers an alternative to other carriers and airports, providing travelers more choice when planning their journeys between Dubai and London.
