Winter is approaching, bringing cold weather that can challenge even the hardiest traveler. Outside of the brief warm stretches, many people regularly find themselves uncomfortable — whether at the office, at home, or on the move.
Embr Wave addresses that problem. This smart bracelet looks like a simple band but functions as a personal thermostat, capable of shifting the wearer’s perceived temperature by several degrees within minutes.
The device works by applying gentle heating or cooling to temperature-sensitive skin on the wrist. A recent addition, Mobile Control, lets users operate the bracelet from their smartphones, turning the phone into a convenient personal thermostat.
“Being able to adjust your thermal comfort via your smartphone is a game changer,” said David Cohen-Tanugi, Ph.D., CPO and co‑founder of Embr Labs. “The intuitive interface and simplicity of our new Mobile Control feature give you more control over your thermal comfort than ever before.”
Before arriving on the market, Embr Wave raised more than $600,000 through a Kickstarter campaign.
