Starwood Hotels & Resorts will expand its eco-conscious Element brand with a new property opening in Gainesville, Florida, in March 2017. Situated close to the University of Florida campus, Element Gainesville – University will offer 123 guestrooms, including bright studios and one-bedroom suites designed for longer stays. Each room will feature a flat-screen TV, a large desk with open shelving and a fully equipped kitchen to support a comfortable, self-sufficient stay.

The hotel’s amenities will include a 24-hour fitness center, an outdoor pool, and a 900-square-foot meeting room suitable for small events or business gatherings. Guests will also have access to Element’s complimentary bikes, encouraging active, sustainable local exploration. These offerings reflect the brand’s focus on wellbeing and environmentally responsible hospitality.

“Element is gaining momentum across Florida and throughout North America due to the brand’s successful positioning and emphasis on clean, sustainable living,” said Allison Reid, senior vice president of North America development for Starwood Hotels & Resorts. “Equipped with everything guests need for a life in balance, Element Gainesville – University will offer an entirely fresh perspective on the extended-stay experience.”

This Gainesville property is the fourth Element hotel planned to open in Florida within the next three years, underscoring Starwood’s continued investment in the eco-minded extended-stay market.
