The new 6×6 Tourism Impact Plan, introduced by the Egyptian Minister of Tourism, aims to revive Egypt’s tourism industry by targeting six strategic priorities designed to restore the sector’s economic significance and global appeal.
These six priorities focus on: building partnerships with international tourism markets to expand Egypt’s reach; collaborating with airlines, including EgyptAir, to ensure affordable and convenient travel options; supporting tourism investors and entrepreneurs to stimulate innovation and growth; upgrading tourist facilities to meet international standards for quality and safety; attracting foreign investment into Egyptian tourism projects; and promoting sustainable, eco-friendly tourism models that preserve natural and cultural assets.
“The 6×6 Tourism Impact Plan emphasizes concrete actions across the most important areas of Egyptian tourism, delivering support and measurable improvements,” said Yehia Rashid, Minister of Tourism. “Committing to achieve noticeable impact across these six priorities within a six-month timeframe is ambitious, but necessary. I want to see fast, effective measures that immediately benefit our sector. By concentrating efforts on these key elements, we can begin a new chapter for tourism in Egypt and restore the country’s reputation as a top global destination.”
The plan’s coordinated approach is designed to create momentum quickly: enhancing air connectivity and affordability to boost arrivals; improving infrastructure and service standards at hotels, resorts, and attractions; and encouraging private and international investment to finance development and innovation. Emphasizing sustainability ensures that growth supports local communities and protects Egypt’s archaeological sites, coastlines, and natural reserves for future generations.
By combining short-term actions with longer-term investments, the 6×6 strategy seeks both immediate results and lasting transformation. For travelers, this means easier access, higher-quality experiences, and a broader range of responsible tourism options. For investors and local businesses, it offers clearer incentives, upgraded standards, and stronger partnerships that can accelerate recovery and growth.
With focused execution and collaboration across public and private stakeholders, the 6×6 Tourism Impact Plan aims to reinvigorate Egypt’s tourism sector, strengthen its contribution to the national economy, and reposition the country as a must-visit destination on the global travel map.
